People of Shiraz, the most recent post on Oscar's blog (www.oscarspleasure.com) takes a look at the surprising number of Iranian fans on the The Very Sexy Shiraz’s Facebook page.
He created The Very Sexy Shiraz brand on the basis of the wine’s “gorgeously juicy fruit and spicy French oak – so attractive it couldn’t be called anything other than sexy”). But many of these fans are unlikely to have experienced the wine’s pleasures. What other factors could be at play?
In the post he looks at what could have drawn people from a Muslim country to the Facebook page for a wine brand; in the process also uncovering some of the reasons for his empathy with the protestors against Iran's vote crisis.
