Writing in the December 2007 issue of Wine & Spirit, Simon Woods selected Lynchpin as one of his favourite three wines in a tasting of high alcohol wines.

Quoting our own musings on the subject (see the entry The Devil Drinks Cloof in the Cloof Life section of our website) he came to the following conclusions:
1. Alcohol levels have no bearing on quality.
2. Unbalanced wines remain unbalanced.
3. Terroir is not negated by high alcohol.
4. Age is neither good nor bad.
5. With glasses, bigger tends to be better.
6. Big wines don't necessarily overwhelm food.
7. Serving temperature is critical.

Leading from point three above, we should point out that our wines' alcohol levels are a product of the Cloof terroir. Our wines express the unique conditions under which they are grown – they're big in every respect!
