The sales and marketing team of Cofco Ltd (owners of the Great Wall wine brand) spent an afternoon getting to know Cloof wines. Afterwards Oscar was presented with a bottle of Chateau Sun God Shiraz, which the Cloof team looks forward to tasting.

Cloof has not been contactable by telephone for almost a week, which sadly is something that happens on a regular basis. As it stands, no-one at Telkom is willing to commit to a date when it will be fixed.

This is our busiest time of year from a visitor point of view, but no-one can contact us by telephone.

With a view to the 2009 General Election in South Africa, Cloof has launched the Congress of Pinotage Sippers (CPS).

Carrying the message onto dinner tables around the country is Cloof’s blended red wine Bush Vines CPS 2004.

Elmie Smit’s first solo exhibition will open at Cloof on 23 November (and moves thereafter to 44 High Street, Darling). The exhibition opens at 11.00 am, and will followed by a Gourmet BBQ.

Celebrating African Fabric is the theme of my paintings and drawings. I paint still-lives of seasonal flowers and fruit arranged on fabric. These arrangements are set up in my studio and I paint from these real life objects

Cloof's Daisy Darling is named in honour of the Cape's biodiversity, and is a 60% Chenin Blanc and 40% Sauvignon Blanc blend, with some of the Chenin vines over 40 years old.
