Continuing our theme of creating individual labels that express the wine’s unique character and personality, we are excited to reveal to the world two new wines:

This week we bottled the 2006 vintage of The Very S~xy Shiraz. Ideally, we’d hold off releasing the wine for at least six months to allow the wine to get over the inevitable bottle shock. We’re guessing that some of this distress may well be the product of claustrophobia (this wine is big – think Du Plessis brothers and Messrs Spies and Matfield inside a Citi Golf).

From 28 to 30 September Cloof will be hosting Rocking The Daisies, the Cape’s most rocking weekend of live music.

 
On 5 May we hosted a wedding for which the bridal couple had arranged a fire juggler.

We took a break from cooking to watch him do his pre-show practice.

The freshness of Autumn seems finally to be settling upon Cloof. After early morning rain today (and a light sprinkling last week) the winter grains are giving the landscape its annual makeover. The year’s first crop of mushrooms has made its appearance.
